And, with Harris, we don't have to push nearly as far on most issues. We will be able to focus our energy on one main fire rather than having our energy split to fight the multitude of fires a Trump presidency would light. This is an amazing piece. Thank you for articulating what many of us feel. The “system” is doing exactly what it was designed to do. If more people understood this, they would understand why people work so hard to suppress their vote. I hope we get to a place where people see the disparities in access/resources in communities and realize the impact of their vote or lack thereof. I have intentionally stayed away from
SM for this past year, and minimized watching the 24-hour news cycle. However, as I have for the past 30 years, will be at my polling site on Tuesday. As you wrote, my privilege (shelter, stability, etc.) does not negate my civic duty. Voting is for the collective.
